BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Agility Project Logistics, a unit of Kuwait's Agility, and Transcar Projects Monday said they got a contract for two phases of Qatar's Pearl gas-to-liquids project.
The 42-month contract is worth between $180 to $220 million, Agility said in a statement on the Kuwait Stock Exchange Web site.
The Pearl GTL project, which is being developed by Qatar Petroleum and Shell, is the world's largest gas-to-liquids project. Approximately 1 million freight tons of cargo are needed to construct the project.
APL, formerly known as Transoceanic Shipping Co., is a unit of Agility, the Middle East's largest logistics firm. Transcar is one of Europe's largest privately-held project managers for freight transportation.
