Nama Chemicals Company, a Saudi manufacturer of chemicals and petrochemicals, said secondquarter profit more than doubled as it increased production to take advantag of global demand.

Net income rose to SR8.6 million (Dh8.4m) from SR4.1m (Dh 3.9m) a year earlier, the company said.

First-half operating profit rose to SR21m (Dh20m) from SR9.6m (Dh9.5m) a year earlier, the company said. Nama has been a Saudi joint stock company since 1992.
