The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, will host  the 31st Meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries and Deputies of Planning and Development Agencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States on 27-28 April 2015. At the meeting, the GCC undersecretaries will discuss a number of topics related to planning and development in the GCC countries. The meeting will be chaired by HE Sultan Bin Rashid Al Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.

Among the topics to be discussed during the meeting is a proposal to establish a GCC Center for Planning and Development Research. The undersecretaries will also  consider mechanisms for the funding of projects to support small businesses, including mobilization of resources from private institutions. The challenges facing small businesses in the GCC will also come under the spotlight.

The meeting will consider the adoption of earlier GCC proposals on Population Policy, including ways in which member states will report to the GCC on demographic data and emerging demographic issues. 

During the meeting, the undersecretaries will also review the memorandum of GCC General Secretariat on the minutes of the twelfth and thirteenth meeting of the planning and development managers, and will consider adopting their recommendations.

In conclusion, the recommendations of the  Meeting will be submitted to the 25th Meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Planning and Development scheduled to be held next May in Doha.
