Sheikh Ibrahim Al Rawahi, Wali of Al Seeb, and attendance of the bank’s management team and guests.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr Ahmed Al Musalmi, CEO of Bank Sohar, said, “In our drive to become the most customer centric bank in Oman we continue to expand our Islamic Banking network across the nation to meet existing and potential market demands. Islamic banking has seen exceptional growth since it was introduced back in 2012, capturing almost 14% of the banking industry in Oman today whilst further contributing to the growth of the national economy. This latest opening for Sohar Islamic in Al Maabelah is essential to our drive in promoting higher levels of financial inclusion for customers seeking Islamic banking facilities. In planning for such strategic activities, we always make sure that we are aligned with the government’s socio-economic development plans and are contributing positively to the economy overall.”
With its strategic location near the Al Maabelah industrial estate, the new branch will be catering to both retail and corporate customers with the full range of Sharia compliant products and services. The branch is now fully operational to serve local communities between 8am-2pm on weekdays.
Mr Salim Khamis Al Maskari, DGM and Head of Sohar Islamic commented on the official opening and said, “As a core asset and human touch point of Sohar Islamic, new branches are of great importance in our drive to boost customer convenience, especially where such branches have the potential to serve higher numbers of individual and corporate customers such as the case in Al Maabelah. We welcome customers from local communities and beyond to our new branch in Al Mabeelah, where they can avail of a complete range of increasingly efficient products and services”.
Sohar Islamic’s extension of its branch network was delivered to better accommodate modern lifestyles in conjunction with a tranche of recent brand promises focussed on enhancing service excellence.
