DOHA - Carrefour has emerged as the cheapest place to buy foodstuff and other essential items of daily use based on the price lists the Ministry has released.
Al Meera, formerly Al Muntazah chain of cooperative stores, which was known for low prices of fast-moving consumer goods, seems to have clearly lost out to Carrefour along with other big-name stores.
The Ministry has included a number of basic food and non-food items of day-to-day use in its list, but we are including only some of the main items in the tables.
The Ministry has set up hotlines to enable consumers to air their grievances and complaints for action. The numbers are: 4945550 and 4945500.
