Doha, Qatar: Hyatt Regency Oryx Doha, the first Hyatt Regency brand in Qatar, announced the appointment of Julien Gonzalvez as General Manager. Carrying an extensive experience of managing Hyatt Hotels properties for years, Julien will manage and oversee all the key aspects of the hotel and will be leading the planned renovation of the property.

Born and raised in France, Julien comes from a family of a hotelier. His career has taken him around the world including comprehensive experience in upper-upscale and luxury Hyatt properties in the UK, Australia, Asia and finally the Middle East. Among some of his achievements he was part of the opening team of the iconic Park Hyatt Saigon and has most recently opened the luxury Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi and Residences Emirates Pearl. Being able to work in different capacities globally, Julien comes with diverse cultural expertise.

On his new role, Julien Gonzalvez, said, “Qatar’s hospitality sector is one of the most vibrant and evolving sectors in the region and we are committed to playing a key role in supporting this growth. Julien holds a diploma in Hotel Management School of St. Chely D’Apcher France. In addition, he has attended some Executive learning at INSEAD, Business School for the World- Europe, Asia, ME and North Africa
