Cairo –  The Egyptian Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced its citizen investment plan in the Governorate of Damietta for fiscal year 2020/2021.

The plan includes 226 developmental projects in the governorate with investments of EGP 4.2 billion, up by 29% year-on-year (YoY), representing 1.6% of total public investments, according to a statement on Monday.

About 31% of public investments directed to Damietta are financed by the State Treasury.

The housing and slum development sector accounted for EGP 1.1 billion or 25% of total public investments, while the transportation sector made up EGP 1.5 billion or 35.2% and the local development investment registered EGP 389.2 million or 9.3%.

The country allocated EGP 359 million (8.5%) of public investments for the higher education sector, EGP 322.5 million (7.7%) for the irrigation sector, and EGP 594.2 million (14.2%) for other sectors.
