Series of activities to empower students and support their careers held on campus

Jeddah, KSA - After signing a groundbreaking partnership agreement with King Abdul Aziz University, Sheikh Ismail Abudawood Training Center held a series of training events on campus that deliver the partnership goals and build on its promise to improve students' soft skills and prepare them for a brighter future.

Translating the agreement that was signed in 2009, the past months witnessed four useful and highly interesting events that involved students in a host of practical activities. The events included a career-oriented exhibition, life-planning sessions, an employment fair and a workshop on basic interpersonal skills.

The events boosted the center's efforts towards equipping Saudis to rise to their full potential and helping the country achieve its Saudization goals. "Discover your Passion" exhibition comprised various booths representing various university faculties, where students were briefed on academic disciplines taught and promising career opportunities in each booth.

Activities also included the highly beneficial "Plan for your Life" sessions; where students where encouraged to discover their competitive edge, inspired on how to handle ambition and build confidence while being proactive members of their societies. A workshop was also held on developing basic interpersonal skills, highlighting the importance of time management and the need to continuously develop communication and presentation skills.

During the "Kafa'at Employment Fair", Ahmed Fallata, HR Manager at Abudawood Group, delivered several sessions on various topics spanning interviews and resume writing. He shared best practices and real life experience, with a special emphasis on educating students about their rights during an interview and as employees.

Sheikh Osama Ismail Abudawood, Chairman of Abudawood Group says: "Signing a partnership agreement with King Abdul Aziz University was a great step within our initiative. To realize the full potential of such cooperation, various interactive activities were held to involve students and engage them in programs that will shape their future career."

"Change begins at the roots, and if we were to revolutionize our workforce and improve the skills of our Saudi graduates, we need to focus on students to ensure they are equipped to excel in their chosen career. The series of workshops we are holding will nurture future leaders and address the country's employment challenges," he added.

To encourage students to attend workshops and acquire a set of valuable soft skills, workshop fees were significantly reduced. The original price of 1000 SR has become 60 SR per course only, with Sheikh Ismail Abudawood Training Center and King Abdul Aziz University bearing the balance of the cost.

The partnership is one of a series of agreements signed with reputable institutions in Saudi Arabia. Current partnerships include, in addition to King Abdul Aziz University, the University of Business & Technology, Dar El Hekma Ladies University, and Al Faisal in Riyadh.
