Muscat – Muriya, the most diversified developer of the biggest destinations in Oman, has announced the renaming of its flagship destination ‘Salalah Beach’ to ‘Hawana Salalah’. The company’s move came as part of its continued commitment to contribute to the growth of Oman’s burgeoning tourism, real estate and leisure market. Meaning ‘our fresh breeze’ in Arabic, the new name is inspired by Salalah’s renowned reputation as a destination of choice and reverberates with connotations of comfort and peace of mind.

Hawana Salalah is nestled in the heart of the Governorate of Dhofar, attracting visitors from Oman, the region and around the world. The development is home to three upscale hotels comprising the 400-room Salalah Rotana Resort, the 302-room Fanar Hotel & Residences, the 82-room Juweira Boutique Hotel, as well as the recently launched Souly Lodge which is Salalah’s first eco-lodge comprising of 15 beach-front huts built entirely with natural elements. With nearly 800 rooms to cater to guests of all segments, the destination delivers world-class service infused with the warmth of traditional Omani hospitality. The multi-faceted community has been sustainably built to deliver high-level accommodation including luxurious freehold villas and apartments designed by world-class architects and available to own or rent. Designed to cater to every kind of lifestyle, Hawana Salalah’s properties, range from spacious sea and lagoon front villas to meticulously designed townhouses and apartments.

Ensuring every visit to Hawana Salalah is memorable, the destination is home to a state-of-the-art marina close to two prominent local ports – the ancient UNESCO Heritage Site Khor Ruri and the Port of Salalah. The only superyacht haven in the south of Oman, the marina which includes 117 wet berths and 100 dry berths for yachts up 60 meters long. In addition to regular charter flights connecting Salalah to key source markets in Europe, Muriya’s continuous development in the Sultanate’s southernmost Governorate has transformed it into the region’s region’s fastest-growing year-round tourist hubs.

Muriya’s flagship destination is located in the tropical city of Salalah in the far southeast of Oman, with an area of 13.6 million sqm and will house a total of seven hotels, of which Salalah Rotana Hotel and Juweira Boutique Hotel are operational. The third hotel that joined the destination in February 2016 was the 218-room Fanar Hotel & Residences, totalling the available luxury hotel rooms to 700. The destination is home to a 171 berth marina, freehold residences, retail venues, restaurants and cafes. As Sodah Island is placed off the coast of Dhofar, located in the Indian Ocean and the commercial complex in Al Seeb located in the heart of the capital Muscat.
