As one of its major projects to consolidate and reinforce the electricity networks, "Kahramaa" represented by Electricity Transmission Dept completed a project to install 11 KV capacitor banks in the networks within Al-Ghaffara and Al-Sulaime substations in the northern part of Qatar State.
This project is the first of its type in order to reinforce the voltage of the electricity distribution via the source in the transmission network.
The whole project was designed, supervised and controlled by Engineers and Technicians of Electricity Transmission Department in Kahramaa.
The capacitor banks are used to reduce power losses of transmission network which enhances the performance of the transmission network equipment and for the electricity equipment at customers' side.
Eng. Abdullah Al-Subaie, Acting Director of Electricity Networks Affairs and Eng. Ali Jassim Al-Najjar, Manager of Electricity Transmission Department, honored engineers and technicians who participated in the project in a party held for them, gifts and appreciations certificates where distributed.
