Egypt - Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts further reinforced its committment to the Middle East region by opening Four Seasons Alexandria, its fourth property in Egypt earlier this year. This opening brings the total number of Four Seasons properties in the region to nine

The new Four Seasons Alexandria property, which opened its doors in July, features the legendary Four Seasons "experience" - personalised 24-hour service in elegant surroundings of the finest quality.

The 118-room Hotel, located in the renowned San Stefano area of the city overlooking the Mediterranean, is a haven of luxury. Rising from the once fabled San Stefano Hotel, Egypt's oldest establishment of hospitality, Four Seasons Alexandria rekindles San Stefano's days of glamour and glory. But more than this, its opening marks a new era in tourism for the city which dates back to 331 BC.

"We are very excited to have opened the Alexandria property," says Cesare Rouchdy, Senior Director of Marketing Four Seasons Egypt. "We believe this is an important addition to our portfolio both here in Egypt and in the region as a whole. This property complements our other two city Hotels in Cairo and our Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, and is already reaching maximum capacity on a regular basis," he adds.

Four Seasons Cairo at the First Residence was the group's first foray into Egypt. Opening in May 2000, the property set a new standard in luxury in the country's capital by offering the first 24-hour concierge service and the biggest suites in the city with panoramic views of the Nile River and the fabled Pyramids.

Capitalising on the success of its Cairo property, Four Seasons then opened its first resort in the region in Sharm El Sheikh, overlooking the Red Sea. Offering the ultimate in relaxing getaways, the resort is a haven of peace and tranquillity. With an award-winning Spa and Wellness Centre and opportunities for snorkelling and diving just metres from the pristine white sands of the Hotel beach, it is a jewel in the Four Seasons crown.

The third chapter in the Four Seasons story in Egypt, is the great success of its Nile Plaza property in Cairo, which opened in 2005. This modern, spacious and centrally located Hotel has seven restaurants and is attached to a luxurious shopping mall. With 365 guest rooms, including 77 suites, the property offers unprecedented views of both the Nile River and the Citadel, and has quickly become a beacon of sophisticated hospitality in the capital.
