Receiving the UL Global Certificate for INTUMESCENT Fire Proof Products,
Al-Jazeera, a giant maker of high quality paints in the Middle East and neighboring regions, participated in Dubai Fire Protection II Conference as a "Golden" host. This 3-day conference held in Dubai was directed by the UAE Ministry of Interior Affairs and organized by Flemming Gulf and had an audience of 200 expertise from local and international institutions and organizations interested in securing a safe working environment in industrial and housing buildings during which they discussed the best and effective procedures and solutions to provide safety for buildings from the risks of fires.
Al-Jazeer's participation in this conference came in the light of receiving the Underwriters Laboratories global certificate of compliance for its INTUMESCENT fire proof products, a step from which the company received a universal recognition for its capability to comply with the most recent regulations and requirements of building constructions. And, as part of its continuous and ambitious development plans, the company helped the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve a high reputation in paints manufacturing and to come next to industrial countries among them USA, Canada and Britain. Furthermore, Al-Jazeera Paints Company came to be a pioneer among other paints companies in Asia and Africa due to its commitment to comply with the most updated international safety requirements and specifications.
The general manager of Al-Jazeera Paints Company, Abdullah Ben Saoud Al Rumieh, explained that his company's hosting of the conference came in the light of its social responsibilities and strategies concerning health, safety and environment, and as part of its efforts to take a major role in saving lives, properties and reducing human and material losses resulting from fires. Mr Al Rumieh called for entrenching the concepts of public safety as well as spreading awareness among people of its importance for the community pointing out to the growing need to focus on safety in different types of buildings and constructions by the government in many countries as every year the number of fire incidents are increasing and eventually the number of casualties.
Mr Al Rumieh stressed on the role of his company in offering innovative technologies and solutions that have positive results in fire preventions in buildings as well as protecting steel constructions from excessive heat which may lead to collapse. Such products provide enough time and chance for workers and residents to evacuate the accommodation or industrial building before it collapses due to fires. He also noted that buildings may collapse within few minutes due to excessive heat of fires. However, Al-Jazeera Paints Company, with its advanced and innovative technology, manufactured a product that helps buildings to resist fires for about 120 minutes -according to Underwriters Laboratories specifications-, provides a safe fire exit for the residents or workers in the building and spares enough time for firefighters to reach and extinguish the fire, thus, reducing the chance that the building collapses due to the excessive heat of the fire.
Speaking in the conference, Al-Jazeer's Abdullah Maghribi, the working engineer in Business Developing department, shed the light on the technology used in Al-Jazeera 263 Fire Damper, a product which successfully complied with fire proof paints specifications as required by laboratory commission UL. This product has the feature of Intumescent which means that the paint swells to form a shield between the heat and the steel structures which provides enough time for fire fighting and rescuing as well as protecting many facilities from the risk of collapse such as mega projects, sky scrappers, hotels, hospitals, universities, industrial facilities, storage buildings, airports, railway stations, shopping centers and elevator wells.
Moreover, Al-Jazeera Paints Company is considered as one of the biggest and leading companies to produce paints as it produces about 200,000 tons yearly. The Gulf market is a big consumer of that quantity as well as large quantities are exported to countries in Asia and Africa. The 30-year old company has many stories of success and contributions as it is the first local company in Saudi Arabia to give great importance on protecting lives and properties by adopting the international specifications and requirements that govern fire proof paint manufacturing aiming at maintaining a securer and safer life for the citizens.
