KUWAIT: Former European Central Bank President Jean Claude Trichet will offer insight into the euro-zone's sovereign debt crisis at an upcoming international symposium hosted by National Bank of Kuwait.
Trichet, who is also a former Governor of Banque de France, served two terms as president of the ECB and has more than 30 years in European finance and policy. Known for his conservative approach and leadership at the ECB, Trichet has proposed the creation of a European Finance Ministry to manage the entire euro-zone financial sector.
Previously, Trichet also served as Chairman of the Group of Ten (G10) Governors and was elected President of the "Global economy meeting" of Central Bank governors and President of the Group of Governors and heads of supervision (GHOS) in Basel. He currently serves as Chairman for the powerful Washington-based Group of Thirty (G30) economic advisors.
