DOHA: Enhancement of Middle Level professional competence, expertise in financial and legal consultancy; and partnering in the educational field are some of the proposals being discussed by the Franco-Arab trade delegation with Qatari officials during its recent visit to Qatar.
"Our delegation represents 12 French companies, which are mainly Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). All these companies are offering world wide services in large spectrum of activities. We have companies acting in the field of educational and vocational training; infrastructure development which are highly specialised in concrete structures and specialised in interior designing", Serge Degallaiz, president of Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce said while winding up the delegation's three-day visit to Qatar.
France is known for its excellent vocational training institutions. These companies can offer world class training to the middle management professional in various Qatari companies.
"Qatar has an excellent and competent team of top layer executives. But its Middle Level management is not as strong as its top level professionals. The competency of the Middle Level professionals is key to the successful operations of projects. This would be one of the areas that we would be looking into," he said.
Degallize, after holding high-level discussions with the Ministry of Business and Trade, told The Peninsula that the French traders are keen on partnering with some of the top companies and prestigious projects in Qatar, including Lussail projects and Pearl Qatar.
"When it comes to bilateral trade with Qatar, France's position is currently 10. The Qatari officials wanted to enhance this position to 5th place in the coming years," Degallize said.
The delegation also came with an interesting proposal-rejuvenation therapy for race horses. A three-member women group in the delegation was on the look out for their special products- a therapeutic mud bath for the race horses.
"This is a particular kind of mud found in the Western parts of France. We held talks with several people involved in the horse race. The response was really encouraging," said the therapist Severine Gouraud.
A clay bath, ahead of the race, would enhance the strength and raise spirit of horses. It's detoxifying effects have been scientifically proved, she said.
Gouraud, who inherited her family profession, claimed the treatment would help pull out heavy metals from the body of the horses that many experts in the field of environmental toxicology believe is a primary factor in many diseases of the animal. "This is a 100 percent pure and natural treatment".
The clay that applies on the horses is so natural that it contains no spices, herbs or fillers which sometimes cause allergic reactions. Clay is guaranteed to be free of bacteria and would strengthen the immune system of horses, she said.
