New subscribers between 17 April to 07 May, get free modem, installation and 3 months free rental for annual subscriptions
Qtel is pleased to announce its latest ADSL offering. All existing residential and corporate barQ ADSL subscribers will get their connection speeds doubled for free.
barQ customers can now maximise their Internet experience with faster speeds at no extra cost. Qtel will automatically upgrade existing subscribers for 256 kbps, 512 kbps and 1 MB connection speeds to double their speeds.
For example, a customer who pays QR.200 for a 256 kbps ADSL connection will now have a 512 kbps connection for the same price. 1 MB subscribers will have their speeds doubled to 2 MB. The 2 MB connection speed has been launched with the same price for a 1 MB connection speed while the 256 Kbps speed has now been dropped.
The three available speeds for Qtel's barQ ADSL are now 512 Kbps, 1 MB and 2 MB.
Qtel Executive Director of Wireline Services, Khalil Al-Emadi said, "Qtel is dedicated to its 'Internet for All' campaign. The Internet is now one of the most widely used learning and information tools and we want to ensure that our fast Internet services are accessible and affordable for everyone in Qatar, whether residential or business customers.
"When benchmarked against other regional ADSL service providers, Qtel's ADSL prices are one of the cheapest in the region, " added Mr. Al-Emadi.
Qtel has re-priced and re-packaged its residential and corporate Internet and data services to become a price leader and fastest growing broadband country in the GCC. The number of broadband customers in Qatar currently exceeds 14,000.
New barQ ADSL customers, who subscribe for an annual subscription, can take advantage of a free three-month rental package. They will also receive a free modem and free installation, saving up to QR. 1550. This promotion is valid from 17 April to 07 May 2005.
The promotion from 17 April to 07 May 2005, is also open to new barQ Business customers who will save up to QR. 8300 for an annual subscription, with three months free rental, free modem and installation.
Qtel's Internet and data services have seen major tariff reductions with Internet VPN tariffs reduced by 60% since it was launched in June of 2004. Dial-up Internet saw price discounts of 33% while barQ ADSL prices for residential customers were slashed by 47% in June of last year.
Mr. Al-Emadi concluded by saying, "We hope that this offering will play a big role in the development of our public and business communities.
