Al Ain: Dubai Hurricanes and NMC outclassed Nissan Al Masaood and Friends CC, respectively, to reach the semi-finals of the Al Faraa Corporate T20 League cricket tournament organised by Durham-UAE at the Al Ain Sportplex ground,

In the quarter-finals of the tournament being held under the auspices of the Al Ain Cricket Council, Dubai Hurricanes defeated Nissan Al Masood by six wickets while NMC outplayed Friends Cricket Club by 87 runs.

Meanwhile, the Ajman Cricket Council will stage the Age Steel Ramadan T20 Cup from June 13. Top eight teams will battle for honour and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi finals. Matches will be played at Ajman Oval Cricket Ground. Teams will be registered on a first come first serve basis.

In Al Ain, Al Masaood batted first to score 140 before being all out in 19.4 overs. Sajit Kumara topscored with 45 off 32 balls, including a six and four boundaries while Inam Farid scored 32 off 30.

Rafiullah Rahimi was the leading bowler for Hurricanes with three wickets for 23 runs.

In reply, Hurricanes, lived up to their name as they took only 15.1 overs to score the required runs. Waqas Ahmad knocked 35 off 25 balls and Zohaib Jamil’s unbeaten 32 off 30 helped Hurricanes score 143 for four wickets.
