Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Mall of the Emirates is set to revitalize the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) season by hosting a record-breaking activation. From 13 to 16 August, Funko, the pop culture collectibles company, will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest mosaic made from packaged products.

Funko will use its colourful and beloved range of Funko Pop! accessories to create an eye-catching and history-making mosaic of Modesh, Dubai’s famous summer mascot. Developed and operated by Majid Al Futtaim — the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia — Mall of Emirates will host the activation with the support of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE).

The record breaking attempt is primed to be one of the highlights of the summer. Visitors to Mall of the Emirates — be it the DSS shoppers, Funko enthusiasts or young toy lovers — are invited to join the excitement and witness history in the making. The event takes place from 10 am to midnight between 13 and 15 August, and from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on 16 August.

Funko is one of the leading creators and innovators of licensed pop culture products. Funko designs, sources and distributes highly collectible products across multiple categories including vinyl figures, action toys, plush, apparel, housewares and accessories.

The Funko Guinness World Record attempt is the latest addition to Mall of the Emirates’ action-packed programme of Dubai Summer Surprises offers and activities. Visitors to the mall are invited to immerse themselves in a rich and diverse array of theatre, art, and dance workshops, while taking full advantage of a wide range of generous promotions and fun activations like the Boom Box located in the Central Galleria.
