Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Established in 1969 and tied to the early history of healthcare in the UAE, GulfDrug LLC marks its 50th anniversary as a premier provider of healthcare products, services, and solutions in the country. Fast forward a few decades, the company has entered 2020 with a comprehensive group of healthcare technology and innovation leaders, branched via its various divisions, and has big growth plans.

Starting off as an ancillary pharmacy to a small private clinic, Dr. Hassan Al Moosa Private Clinic, in the once ‘downtown’ area of Bur Dubai in the late ’60s, GulfDrug is one of the earliest medical establishments within the UAE and has since grown into a large corporation offering the most comprehensive solutions to the healthcare market. Since its inception, the company has expanded and grown from being a small-scale pharmaceutical provider to now importing high technology medical equipment, instruments and disposables growing their product portfolio and progressing side by side with the development, growth, and maturity of various health institutions in the UAE. This development has allowed GulfDrug to be one the most reliable partners and solution providers for medical institutions in the Middle East and is now celebrating 50 successful years of quality service.

In 1969, the Founder Late Dr. Hassan Al Moosa saw great potential growth opportunities and room for development in the medical industry and launched Gulf Pharmacy/GulfDrug after just one year into being established. The company began importing pharmaceuticals, medical disposables, and instruments for various institutions. In the 1980s, GulfDrug entered a new market within healthcare with the beginning of high-tech medequip imports, and expanding range of pharma, medical disposables & devices.

In 1996, the GulfDrug family saw the early demise of the founder and the company board passed down the leadership to the sons of Late Dr. Hassan Al Moosa, Dr. Zeyad Al Moosa and Mr. Rashad Al Moosa. Under new management, and in line with their father’s vision, GulfDrug continued pursuing a strategy of investing in all healthcare segments it served with its specialized business units’ structures. GulfDrug has since expanded its client services to include turnkey biomedical facility maintenance services, project management and expanded to outsourcing clinical services locally and regionally.

With the trust and faith of its customers and the professional support from its suppliers, GulfDrug has been able to grow tremendously through the years within hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies, and hopes to continue making strides in the medical industry and provide top quality services to its customers. As GulfDrug continues to work on new projects, the company’s vision and main objective is to be the customer’s preferred provider of products, services, and solutions to the healthcare industry they serve and improve healthcare outcomes and services in the UAE.
