Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the free zone authority on commodities trade and enterprise, registered 1969 new companies last year.

In the fourth quarter of last year, 559 companies registered at the free zone, the highest fourth quarter figures in four years, and a 20 percent increase on the same period in 2018.

The new member companies include start-ups, small and medium enterprises and multinational firms from diverse sectors.

“We added 2000 companies from a variety of backgrounds and sectors in 2019, and are now home to over 17,000 companies,” Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC said in a statement.
