Dubai:  Standard Chartered is now the first bank in the UAE to provide clients with instant digital credit cards. The newly introduced solution will allow existing clients to receive digitally delivered cards in as little as 10 minutes and new clients initially within 24 hours. This will also reduce to 10 minutes over the next few months.

The solution is completely automated from start to finish and doesn’t require any human intervention. It also provides clients with instant approval and digital card enablement capabilities. Standard Chartered will be the only bank in the country to offer clients digital cards instantly.

Sonny Zulu, Head of Retail Banking, Standard Chartered UAE said, “At Standard Chartered, we are continuously working towards enhancing and innovating the products we offer. Providing our clients with a fast and convenient banking experience and catering towards their evolving demands is our top priority and the newly launched instant issuance solution is a perfect example of this. Developing the solution involved hundreds of Standard Chartered employees from Dubai to Singapore and everywhere in between who all worked together to capture the differing customer needs and enhance their experience - it was truly a global effort.”

The instant issuance solution in the UAE is expected to eventually support virtually all the bank’s credit card applications. These interventions are usually time-consuming and difficult for clients to fulfil. This service will be available to UAE residents and nationals that have a healthy and mature credit bureau record.

The solution will be available on the bank’s existing Mobile Banking application (SC Mobile) and online banking platform at SC.com/ae (for existing clients).
