Sharjah: The Flag Island, one of Sharjah’s outdoor destinations, is gearing up to launch the second edition of the ‘Evenings at the Island’ event. Set to run from 7 – 9 November, 2019, the event aims to support entrepreneurs and motivate owners of SMEs, offering them an opportunity to launch and promote their products in a fun-filled environment.

Target participants

Registration is open to all entrepreneurs, owners of SMEs, food-truck owners and businesspersons trading in fashion accessories, cosmetic and beauty products, crafts and educational resources. The last date for registering is 25 October, 2019.

The event will provide entrepreneurs with a platform to showcase their projects, services and products. The aim is to offer them an opportunity to bolster their presence in the market, deal with customers directly, and gain insights into the market requirements. The event will be an ideal opportunity to share expertise and experiences, as well as enable participants across all nationalities to expand and reinforce their successful projects.

Social media influencers, first aid lecture

The evenings at The Flag Island will comprise many activities conducted by social media influencers, in addition to an awareness lecture on first aid.

A variety of activities

The event will organise a plethora of workshops and edutainment activities catering to visitors of all age groups, at the amphitheatre outdoors. They will include shows for children, Emirati folklore and dance performances by UAE Creators Team and Emirates Creative Association (ECA). It will also feature quiz and talent competitions, fitness challenges and much more.

Participating entities

Several entities will take part in the event, offering a series of activities, workshops, heritage shows and stage performances. They include: Sharjah Police Headquarters, Social Services Department, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA), Ajman Business Women Council (ABWC), Sharjah Institute for Heritage, Marine Sports Club, Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), Emirates Creative Association (ECA), UAE Creators Team, Knowledge without Borders (KWB), Supercars Majlis, Bikers Barza UAE, Spartan Riders, 1971 Design Space and My Gym.

Khuloud Salim Al Junaibi, General Manager of The Flag Island, said: “We are organising this second edition of the event in line with our efforts to support and encourage entrepreneurs and owners of SMEs, who effectively contribute to the local economy and community stability. The event aligns with our role to provide a platform for all segments of the community to meet and communicate in a positive environment.”
