Dubai, UAE: The Italian Trade Agency has confirmed 32 specialised manufacturers – two more than in 2017 – will be showcasing innovative technological solutions at their pavilion during the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC), starting tomorrow.

With a robust energy sector in the region, the Italian manufacturers will be looking to grow their footprint during the world’s most important and influential oil and gas event at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) between 12 and 15 November.

The Gulf region is not new to the Italians as they have been present in the oil and gas sector for over 50 years. In 2017, USD 600 million turnover in the region came from specialised Italian machineries. The volatile upstream market has led Italian companies to look at other venues, moving towards more value-added mid and downstream segments.

Gianpaolo Bruno, Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan, said, “Italy’s links with the UAE’s energy sector are traditionally very strong. Italian companies enjoy a good reputation in the market and many of them are contributing to the success of the UAE’s industry. A significant number of Italian SMEs are contributing to the development of the energy sector in the UAE due to the high-quality service, strong specialisation and technological advancements, substantial R&D investment and a very flexible approach to clients’ needs.”
