Dubai: Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), the leading NGO devoted to protecting the environment through the means of education, action programmes and community involvement, today announces the 19th Annual UAE Clean Up Drive under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. The event is scheduled to take place on 12 Dec, 2020 at Al Qudra - Saih Al Salam from 8.30 am to 11.30 am.

With the launch of the event, Emirates Environmental Group aims to bring together various sectors of the UAE community including public and private sector, families and individuals with the shared ambition to be champions of the environment and promote sustainable development of the UAE and the entire Arab Region as a whole. 

Mrs. Habiba Al Mar’ashi, the Co-Founder and Chairperson of Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) said: “With the year 2020 being the road for preparation ‘Towards the Next 50’ as directed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, sustainability needs to remain one of the strongest elements to ensure a circular economy and a greener UAE for all. The Clean Up UAE drive supports multiple objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals as committed by the UAE. The event will help to build a brighter, better and a cleaner future for our coming generations and we are proud to pass the nation’s legacy to them.”

The 19th Annual Clean Up UAE will be held in association with Dubai Municipality, Dubai Tourism and Seih Al Salam Protected Area Management. Shoemart is the main sponsor whereas McDonalds and Dabur are the co-sponsors. The Clean UP UAE campaign by Emirates Environmental Group is a sustained, annual, national event that provides hands-on environmental action experience. Emirates Environmental Group has designed and executed a large set of nationwide green programmes in order to enhance the sustainability quotient of the UAE and Arab region.
