UAE - With a spectacular line-up which includes seven of the world's top 10 female players, the excitement is building for the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships which gets underway in just over a week's time at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, a press release said.

One of the best fields to be seen outside of a Grand Slam will be in action from 19th to 24th February during the WTA Tournament, and for only 55dhs per day for Days 1-3, fans will see a line-up which boasts five former world number ones and four players who between them have won an incredible eleven Grand Slams.

The stellar line-up of former world number ones includes reigning Wimbledon champion and former French Open champion Garbine Muguruza, five-time Grand Slam winner Maria Sharapova, Australian Open runner-up Simona Halep, 2018 Sydney champion and two-time Grand Slam winner Angelique Kerber and 2016 US Open finalist Karolina Pliskova.

Also in the mouth-watering line-up is defending Dubai champion, recent Brisbane winner and world number three Elina Svitolina, two time Wimbledon champion and former Dubai champion Petra Kvitova, top ten players Caroline Garcia and Julia Goerges, 2017 US Open runner-up Madison Keys, recent St Petersburg finalist Kristina Mladenovic and Australian number one and 2018 Sydney runner-up Ashleigh Barty.

Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of tournament owners and organisers Dubai Duty Free, is delighted with the line-up of players competing in Dubai this year.

Tournament Director Salah Tahlak said: "We are looking forward to another exciting tournament this year. We are delighted to be welcoming the top players back again, and with so much happening in the village over the fortnight the atmosphere this year will be wonderful.

As always, entry for Courts 1, 2 and 3 is free, so even those without a grandstand ticket can still see top players on the outer courts during the first three days of the tournament."

Tennis fans are expected again to flock to the stadium to witness the spectacular matches, as well as enjoying the packed social program. As always, the Tennis Village will be buzzing all fortnight with entertainment, music, autograph signings, the big screens showing the action live and a host of other events and activities including Kids' Days, Ladies' Night, Men's Night and plenty of competitions for fans to win those sought after finals tickets.

The tournament continues between February 26 and March 3 with the 26th staging of the ATP World Tour event which is headed by world number four and ATP World Tour Finals champion Grigor Dimitrov, with rising stars Lucas Pouille, Karen Khatchanov and Damir Dzumhur facing the experienced Roberto Bautista Agut, Philipp Kohlschreiber and Richard Gasquet in the battle to claim the coveted men's trophy.
