MANAMA: Solidarity Bahrain has announced its cyber risk protection and incident response services to provide personal cyber insurance for customers who wish to protect themselves against financial loss and incident response arising out of cyber threats.
The insurer said this is in line with its on-going commitment to offer new and innovate insurance products aimed at elevating its customer’s experience.
Solidarity Bahrain says it is the first to offer personal cyber insurance, enabling customers to secure their data while transacting and interacting through online channels, and to protect them from identity theft, online shopping fraud, and cyber blackmailing.
Yasmeen Ameeri, senior manager for operations at Solidarity Bahrain, said: “We are glad to announce the personal cyber insurance product that will be initially added as a free cover to all motor comprehensive policies. The benefits of the policy is to protect the customers against basic risks such as electronic shopping fraudulent transactions, identity theft, and stolen fund loss, in addition to services such as 24/7 help desk hotline, ID theft management costs and data restoration/malware decontamination services.”
She added, “We need to raise awareness against cyber-attacks, as there are 12 cyber victims every second around the world, and millions of cyber threats every year. In this sense, the personal cyber product is also designed with wider benefits, services and increased limits to conveniently suit any individual who uses credit cards, mobile devices, online banking and social media platforms.”
