Sharjah: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) on Sunday organized its annual ceremony to honor its outstanding employees and the staff of the Expo Centre Sharjah and the Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Centre (Tahkeem) for the year 2020, in recognition of their tremendous efforts and their impactful role in achieving the Chamber’s objectives according to the emirate’s plans and strategies.

This year’s ceremony was held at the Expo Al Dhaid Centre under the theme “Together we celebrate the achievement. The ceremony was attended by H.E Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI and Chairman of the Expo Centre Sharjah, the SCCI and Expo Centre board members, H.E Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director General of the SCCI, H.E Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre, and a number of department directors and employees.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais: “Despite the challenging times we all lived in 2020, the Sharjah Chamber has continued the march of achievements and successes to cement the status of our Emirate as a global business destination, thanks to the efforts and stellar performance of our employees.”

“Today, we reaffirm our commitment to redoubling our efforts to improve our performance, in line with the directives and visions of H.H Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and in support of the UAE Centennial 2071,” he added.

Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi said: “This event aims to pay tribute to our outstanding employees and partners whose efforts have been paramount in improving the economic performance and securing an innovation-stimulating environment.”

Al Awadi underlined that the challenges of Covid-19 didn’t deter the Chamber to continue its outstanding performance. This is manifested in the remarkable rise in the total number of memberships that amounted to 68,000 members.

The ceremony concluded with honoring the winners of the Chamber Award for the Outstanding Performance in 2020, in addition to honoring the distinguished staff of Expo Centre Sharjah.
