Dubai-UAE: ServeU, the integrated facilities management solutions branch of Union Properties, has announced its support for the ‘Paint Happiness’ campaign launched by Emirates Foundation. The campaign is organized through the foundation’s Takatof Program which aims to empower Emirati youth to engage in volunteering opportunities that promote tolerance and appreciation for diversity across the nation.

As part of the initiative, ServeU is committed to deploying its world-class services to refurbish 11 social and cultural community clubs across the UAE during the Holy Month of Ramadan, which is in line with its mandate to articulate the government’s vision during the ongoing Year of Tolerance.

Gary Reader, General Manager of ServeU, said: “We are truly honoured to have made a difference to the community through this initiative, highlighting the values of compassion and generosity, which are the hallmarks of the Holy Month and the Year of Tolerance. Our partnership, with the Takatof program allows volunteers to not only give back to society in several ways but also learn new skills, with the help of our technicians. We are witnessing a high level of participation and engagement that is extremely encouraging.”

ServeU’s skilled technicians are offering mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services and carpeting, in addition to supervising the work of the volunteers that comprises planting over 330 ghaf trees, landscaping, and repainting the exteriors of the clubs.

Maytha Al Habsi, CEO of Emirates Foundation, said: “The Emirates Foundation Ramadan Campaign is a reflection of the vision set forth by the UAE wise leadership to create new opportunities for our youth that widen their horizons and help them connect with the diverse cultures and communities across the UAE. At Emirates Foundation, we believe that these opportunities for our youth to make a real difference within their communities and their lives help unlock their highest potential and their sense of social responsibility. Volunteer work and service to the community are the seeds that will build our nation’s social capital, a vital component for sustainable development. We are happy to have partnered with responsible entities such as ServeU that are providing invaluable services and support to the volunteers.”

The UAE is a global capital for tolerance, coexistence and openness to different cultures, and is home to over 200 nationalities. The social and cultural community clubs represent this diversity and are often at the heart of community events.

ServeU is supporting the refurbishment of the Sudanese and Bangladesh clubs in Abu Dhabi, as well as one family house, the Jordanian and Pakistani clubs in Dubai. In Ras Al Khaimah, ServeU is extending its support across the Filipino, Indian and Somali clubs, while three other volunteering projects that include one family house, the Indian and Egyptian clubs will be refurbished in Fujairah before this month’s end.

To date, ServeU has organized several successful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in collaboration with Dubai Municipality, including blood donation drives and clean-ups in several locations, including the desert, the beach, and industrial areas. The company plans to launch new CSR campaigns in Q4 2019.
