DUBAI: Saudi telecom company, “stc,” is teaming up with Ericsson to explore the use of renewable energy in its network infrastructure.

Under the signed memorandum of understanding (MoU), the Swedish firm will provide energy efficient strategies to the “stc” network, the pair said in a statement.

"With this new MoU, we work yet again with Ericsson to push the ICT industry’s boundaries and focus on ensuring a sustainable, environmentally-viable future,” Abdulla Alkanhl, chief corporate affairs at “stc” said.

This MoU aims to accelerate the stride towards incorporating green innovation in network operations in light of the expected increase in energy demand.
