RIYADH — The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), in cooperation with the Cooperative Program for Aviation Security in the Middle East, which is chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and affiliated to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), organized a regional workshop entitled — International Aviation Security Auditing — Continuous Monitoring Approach.

The workshop, which was held from July 19-21 at the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) branch office in Jeddah was attended by 20 trainees from GACA and the security entities operating at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.

In addition, 13 Aviation security personnel trainees each from Jordan, Sudan, Libya, and Iraq were also in attendance through remote communication.

The workshop, presented by certified trainers from ICAO, aimed to shed light on the objectives of the international audit program, understanding the methodology and mechanism of an audit, review and analyze the main standard rules in Annex XVII - Aviation Security.

This was in addition to understanding the role and responsibilities of the state and the organization. The workshop boosted the understanding of mechanism for developing a corrective action plan after the audit has ended.
