Commercial centres, shopping malls and entertainment places in Abu Dhabi will remain closed until further notice, authorities have announced.
The Department of Economic Development (DED) on Saturday issued a circular extending the temporary closure of commercial centres, shopping malls, cinemas, electronic game halls and other entertainment destinations in the emirate until further notice.

"The extension of closures supports ongoing preventative and precautionary measures being implemented to help combat the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and further maintain the health, safety and security of community members," Abu Dhabi Media Office said in a Tweet.
Additional measures issued by DED, include suspension of valet parking services, temporarily closing gyms and fitness centres; and banning hookah (shisha) in restaurants and cafes, continue to remain in effect until further notice.
DED had last month issued a circular ordering the closure of all places frequently visited by many people, including commercial centres and others to contain and prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.
