The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in UAE has announced the 1st of Muharram 1441, as an official holiday on the occasion of Hijri New Year. This will be a paid holiday for all government entities, establishments, and private companies in the UAE.

The announcement was made on the ministry's official Twitter account.

UAE's Federal Authority for Government Human Resources also made the announcement on social media today, that Muharram 1, 1441 will be a holiday for the public sector/federal government workers.

The announcement was made based on the Council of Ministers Resolution No. 37 of 2019.
