King Fahad Causeway connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia is set to reopen next month after Eid Al Adha holiday, according to media sources.

The causeway is well-prepared to resume operation and receive travellers – whose numbers will be determined by concerned authorities in due course, they said.

The opening plans will include precautionary protocols issued by the Health Ministry to limit the spread of coronavirus, they added.

The King Fahad Causeway Authority had announced the completion of a new gates development project on the Saudi side during the suspension of passenger travel due to Covid-19 pandemic.

It is part of a comprehensive plan to streamline procedures, while work is underway for the launch of dedicated e-Payment lanes to facilitate processing of the bridge toll on both sides.
