HAMBURG  -

* Jordan's main state grains buyer has again issued an international tender to purchase 100,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat which can be sourced from optional origins, European traders said

* The tender closes on March 27

* This is the eighth tender for 100,000 tonnes of wheat Jordan has issued so far this year

* Jordan has struggled to make purchases in a series of grain tenders in recent months, with traders saying uncertainty about quality controls and payment terms has reduced participation by major grain exporting houses

* Jordan's last reported wheat purchase was of 50,000 tonnes on Dec. 20, 2017.

* Two tenders for 100,000 tonnes in January, four in February and one on March 13 all ended without purchases and with thin participation by international trading houses

* A separate tender for 100,000 tonnes of feed barley has also been issued by Jordan, closing on March 21
