MUMBAI - India's wheat production in 2019/20 is expected to rise 2.5% from a year ago to a record 106.21 million tonnes as the wettest monsoon in 25 years allowed farmers to expand the area under the winter-sown crop, the government said on Tuesday.

The south Asian country's rice production could rise 0.9% from a year ago to a record 117.47 million tonnes, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare said in a statement.
