UAE –  Hertz, the UAE’s leading car rental company, has introduced the first batch of Toyota Camry Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) to its fleet.

Hertz’s new HEV runs for 26KM/L, compared to its petrol engine variant at 14.6KM/L, recording 78% enhanced fuel efficiency and 53% less CO2 emissions, according to a press release on Monday.

In this regard, Al Futtaim, a leading conglomerate company based in the UAE, is studying to convert 30% of its current fleet to HEVs in the coming three years by adding the newest hybrid models from Toyota, Lexus, Volvo, and Jeep.

Managing director of Hertz UAE, Nigel Johnson, commented: “Hertz is the first car rental company to provide UAE residents with the opportunity to rent a Toyota Hybrid Electric Vehicle. We noticed that the demand for green rental cars has been increasing in the past two years, as customers started understanding the financial and environmental benefits of Hybrid Electric cars.”
