Dubai: Bureau Veritas will sponsor France’s Pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) which will run from October 20th 2020 to April 10th 2021.

Bureau Veritas Group is supporting France’s participation in the Expo 2020 Dubai in the form of a skills-based sponsorship initiative that comes under an agreement with COFREX, the French exhibitions committee, which is responsible for preparing and organising France’s participation in the World Expo.

Bureau Veritas is providing COFREX with specialist construction teams based in Dubai. These teams will carry out all the technical work required to ensure the French Pavilion complies with the best professional practices and all applicable regulations. Bureau Veritas is also helping COFREX with environmental quality and Social and Environmental Responsibility for the French Pavilion. These services will cover the entire lifecycle of the pavilion, from the design review stage to overseeing construction and right through to dismantling the building.

Expo 2020 Dubai, which focuses on the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” will be the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, a region in which Bureau Veritas Group has held a strong position since the 1970s. Today the Bureau Veritas regional network has 47 offices and laboratories in 14 countries and 3,200 engineers and technicians. In Dubai particularly, Bureau Veritas is a key player in buildings and infrastructure compliance and supports local property developers in some of the most prestigious property ventures.

This is Bureau Veritas’ first skills-based sponsorship initiative. It will enable the Group to promote both its international network and its expertise in the building sector, in which Bureau Veritas is the world’s leading supplier of testing, inspection and certification services and which represents the Group’s most important business sector.

Didier Michaud-Daniel, Chief Executive Officer of Bureau Veritas, commented, “We are proud to be involved in getting this major event off the ground. Its themes are perfectly in step with our company vision. Anticipating technical and social challenges, such as mobility and sustainability, and innovating to help our customers meet these challenges is an integral part of our strategy. This is also an opportunity for us to strengthen our influence in the region.

Erik Linquier, Commissioner General for France-Expo 2020 Dubai & Chairman of Cofrex said, “Focusing on the specific theme of “Light, Lights”, the French Pavilion will showcase the expertise of French businesses and highlight the diversity of our talent and our sustainable innovations. We are delighted that Bureau Veritas has come on board, particularly in terms of its help in overseeing the pavilion’s eco-design.
