Egypt - The Egyptian Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has signed a cooperation agreement with Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Global Solutions for the establishment of a Shared Services Centre in Egypt, according to a press release.

The centre comes as the first-of-its-kind business for MAF Holding, the leading specialist in the shopping malls, communities, retail, and leisure businesses across the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.

Through this agreement, MAF Holding aims at carrying out its operations in Egypt with the main objective of providing shared services operations including accounting, HR, procurement, and IT services.

Operations from the center will not be limited to the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, the release noted.

This agreement will enable MAF to employ a minimum of 600 additional new Egyptian employees over the course of the agreement, directed primarily to export activities.

ITIDA aims at developing and boosting the Egyptian IT and IT-enabled services exports to various global markets, which will help to create more job opportunities for the Egyptian youth.
