Government of Dubai Media Office : In further contributions from the UAE business community to support the country amidst the global coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, leading Emirati conglomerate Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group announced donations worth AED13 million aimed at supporting the healthcare sector and schools in Dubai. 

As part of the humanitarian gesture, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group Charity Foundation announced a AED3 million donation to support the UAE’s distance learning initiative at public and non-profit schools in Dubai. The Foundation will provide computers to schools in the Dubai Education Zone, a statement from the Group said.

The Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group also donated AED10 million to support the Dubai Health Authority’s preventive measures against the novel coronavirus. The move, which is within the framework of the UAE’s efforts to safeguard the health and safety of its citizens, residents and visitors, also supports the implementation of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) guidelines.

Commenting on the donation, the Easa Saleh Al Al Gurg Group said the contribution was part of its commitment to give back to the nation and encourage social responsibility initiatives across the business community. The Group highlighted the importance of setting an example in contributing towards efforts to tide over the current critical period. The UAE continues to be at the forefront of spreading hope and has created a global model for safeguarding the health and well-being of all segments of the community, it further said.

Furthermore, Al Gurg Group has offered tenants of residential buildings owned by Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group Dubai Real Estate the option of postponing rent payment for three months.

The gesture is the latest in a series of donations extended by Emirati businessmen in support of the country’s efforts to combat the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The gestures of support by the country’s private and public sector demonstrate the commitment of its business community to aid efforts to fight the global pandemic.
