Expo 2020 Dubai has announced that it will have brand-new dining concepts across its 200-plus eateries at the six-month mega event, including everything from cuisine by Michelin-starred chefs to the emirate’s Pakistani food stalwart Ravi Restaurant.

Marjan Faraidooni, chief visitor experience officer of Expo 2020 said: “It’s universally agreed that one of the best ways to discover a country is by sampling cuisine, and at Expo 2020 Dubai, visitors are able to eat their way around the world without leaving the UAE.”

Venues will include a restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Mory Sacko of Mosuke, Adrift Burger Bar by American chef David Myers, and another by Armenian American chef Geoffrey Zakarian.

Italian restaurant Scarpetta will also host its first Burrata Bar at the event and Thai street food brand Long Chim will also be present.

Other local brands besides Ravi Restaurant will include Arabian Teahouse, Al Farwania and Chicken Tikka Inn. The six-month event will open on October 1st 2021.

Dubai is depending on the global event to give its economy a boost. Organisers are expecting up to 25 million total physical visits between October and March 2022.

Expo 2020 Dubai started selling entry tickets on July 18. The organisers expect UAE flight restrictions - such as those on arrivals from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka - to have lifted by the time Expo 2020 starts.

Expo 2020 is the first World Expo to take place in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region, located on a 4.38 sq.km site adjacent to Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai South.
