Lt-Col Mohammed Abdullah Al Muhairi, deputy director of Dubai Police Command and Control Room, said the operations room also received 16,042 calls regarding accidents in Dubai.
Most of the accidents occurred due to speeding, said Lt-Col Al Muhairi adding that a number of these happened before Iftar. Other major resaons included drivers not leaving enough distance between vehicles, lack of commitment to the lane discipline and lack of attention while driving.
He called on all drivers and road users to exercise caution when approaching intersections. He stressed that the Dubai Police
