Muscat: Bringing expatriate workers into the country, and renewing the work visas of foreign workers already in Oman will cost OMR 201 until the end of the year, compared to the previous charge of OMR 301.

The Ministry of Labour has announced it will be “reducing fees for renewal of non-Omani work permits, starting from the present date until the end of December 2020, with the fees becoming OMR 201 instead of OMR 301.

“Permission will also be granted to renew the expired licences of companies with an Omani workforce, as well as for small and medium enterprises registered with the Public Authority for Social Insurance,” said the Ministry of Labour.

“Work permits for temporary or part-time employers can also be approved, with the costs calculated on the basis of the number of workers the company wishes to bring,” added the ministry.

The decisions were made in keeping with consultations with the Supreme Committee for dealing with COVID-19.
