Muscat – Audi Oman, represented by its official distributor in Oman - Wattayah Motors, has announced that it has received the ISO 9001:2015 certification. The company has been rewarded with this high-level certification from the International Organisation for Standardisation because of its continued commitment towards adhering to the highest quality management principles. This includes achieving high levels of customer satisfaction, establishing future investment plans, and taking the right approach in order to ensure sustainable growth. Audi offers a magnificent line-up of vehicles that all embody the slogan ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ through their innovative engineering, state-of-the-art technologies, and stunning designs that reflect the true sporty and luxurious core of the Audi brand.

Wattayah Motors officially received its ISO certification in August 1996 and has subsequently continued to improve its service quality to conform to each new upgraded standard as and when required. This resulted in the company receiving its ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 9001:2008 certification in 2003 and 2010 respectively. The standards were once again reclassified, re-defined, and formulated as ISO9001:2015 in September 2015; with a three-year time period given for companies to conform and transition to the new standards.

Commenting on the certification, David Ryan, the GM for Audi Oman stated, “We are very proud to have been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certificate; which we have received as a result of the recent development and updating process we carried out internally. This was realized in order to implement the latest international quality norms. Our efforts have resulted in us obtaining this prestigious certification; making us amongst the first automotive companies in the Sultanate to have done so.”

ISO assessment tests play a big role in encouraging large companies to improve their services and enhance their performance to the extent that they qualify for the certificate. Wattayah Motors itself had recently undertaken a comprehensive assessment to improve the performance of its quality management systems in line with international standards, across all its departments.

The assessment included checking the company’s various facilities and showrooms; observing the work of Sales teams and service centres; monitoring the spare parts and the manner in which they are stored; and assessing the performance of human resources team, as it is a key factor in achieving the overall development of the company.

David concluded, “Receiving the ISO 9001:2015 emphasises the fact that we are moving forward towards achieving our future goals; providing customers with services that reflect the highest levels of quality, professionalism and speed. I would therefore like to thank every member of our staff for their outstanding effort they have put in and encourage them to keep up the good work as we make great headway into the future.”
