Ajman-UAE:–The College of Mass Communication at Ajman University (AU), has proudly participated in a mesmerizing visual show on “Burj Khalifa” in collaboration with the Dubai Police.

Gaafar Salem, a trainee of the College in Dubai Police presented his video on “Esaad Card”. He has also assumed several media activities over his internship that one of his productions was displayed on over 380 screens across Dubai roads and trade centers.

During his six-weeks training period, Salem participated in the media coverage of various events, along with a videography of many Dubai Police activities. These included the “Esaad card” anniversary, an awareness campaign on COVID-19 prevention at workplace, and a "Stay Home" drive.

He further participated in the coverage of a function on the importance of face protectors for the first defense line staff. These are apart from a student remote forum, sterilization of police buildings, centers and vehicle fleet, and an appreciation campaign for “The First Defense Line” staff that was published on Dubai Police social platforms.

Dr. Dina El-Khattat, an Assistant Professor at the College of Mass Communication and training coordinator, said they provide amazing internship opportunities in all the media sectors.

“These internships are meant to enhance the interns' practical skills through their societal participation in an actual work environment that qualifies them for the labor market in their profession.”

The College has an array of strong internship ties with a large number of prestigious bodies across the UAE, she added. “We are now providing internship opportunities for 100 media students in various specialties. Up to 48 students have already finished their internship in Public Relations and Advertising, 32 in Graphic Design, and 20 in Radio and television.”

Dr. Khattat extended her sincere appreciation to all supporters of the College internship program this academic year. “Our partners’ positive impact on the knowledge, skills, and experience of our trainees speaks volumes.”

The list of our interniship partners includes the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Federal Authority for Electricity and Water(FEWA), Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, Department of Ports and Customs in Ajman, and Ajman Chamber.

These are added to the Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Sharjah International Airport Authority, Sharjah Roads & Transport Authority Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), and Hamriyah Free Zone.
