Saudi Aramco is expected to award the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) contract for Abu Safah Field Offshore Production Deck by mid of fourth quarter 2020, a source aware of the project details said.
"The EPCI tender was issued on 28 June 2020. The main contract is expected to be awarded by third week of October 2020," the source told Zawya Projects, adding that the project completion is scheduled for December 2022.
The source estimated the project cost at around $80 million.
A second source said the tender was issued to the offshore Long-Term Agreement (LTA) pool.
The prequalified bidders for EPCI work comprise of Royal Boskalis Westminster, Hyundai Heavy Industries, McDermott, Malaysia Marine Heavy Engineering, Larsen & Toubro, Lamprell, Subsea 7, Technip, Saipem, Sapura Energy, National Petroleum Construction Company, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, and Dynamic Industries Saudi Arabia, officials from eight companies confirmed with Zawya Projects.
The main scope of work involves construction of a new production deck module (PDM) at the Abu Safah field, and subsea flexible flowlines, subsea umbilicals, cables, subsea valve skids installation and demolition scope, the second source added.
