A Kuwaiti company has won a contract within a major Jurassic gas project in North Kuwait with a value of around 41.9 million Kuwaiti dinars ($138 million).

In a bourse statement, the Combined Group Contracting Co said it was awarded the deal by the state-owned Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).

“The contract involves external works at the Jurassic gas facilities in North Kuwait...we expect good financial results from the 5-year contract,” the firm said.

It gave no other details in its brief statement but kOC has been locked in a large programme to develop oil and gas resources in the northern region close to Iraq.
