Alpha Dhabi Holding (ADH) announced on Tuesday that a joint venture of its subsidiary Trojan General Contracting with Six Construct, a subsidiary of Belgium's Besix Group, has been awarded the main construction contract for Guggenheim Abu Dhabi museum by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).

The stock exchange statement didn't disclose the contract value but Zawya had reported last month that a $1 billion construction contract has been awarded for Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.

The ADH statement said the joint venture will be responsible for the museum’s construction, as well as the associated infrastructure and surrounding marine works.

It said the museum is on track for completion in 2025.

Spanning an area of 450,000 square feet on Saadiyat Island, and designed by award-winning architect Frank Gehry, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi museum is set to be the largest of the Guggenheims, the statement said.
