Background

Mapanuepe Hydro Power Corp planned to develop 500 MW Mapanuepe Lake Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Plant Project, in Mapanuepe Lake, San Marcelino, Zambales, Philippines. Consortium of China Energy Engineering Group International Engineering Co Ltd, China Energy Engineering Group Guangxi Hydroelectric Construction Bureau Co Ltd, Changjiang International Engineering Design Co Ltd was the EPC contractor. The project covered the construction of a 500 MW hydroelectric power plant. The power station hub is mainly composed of upper reservoir, lower reservoir, water delivery system, underground powerhouse and ground switch station. As a major project approved by the Department of Energy of the Philippine Government to implement the national power development plan and support the country's economic development. After the completion of the power station, the project will play a significant role for the power supply structure optimization in Subic City, Zambales Province, Luzon Island, Philippines, the power supply quality will be improved, ensure the safety and stable operation of the power grid and will lay a solid foundation for local clean energy development and ecological protection.
