Background

Gansu Province Electric Power Investment Group Co., Ltd.' invested and is working on the project of 'Gansu Province Electric Power Investment Group - Changle Power Plant'. The power generation plant project locates in a gobi beach , about 62 km northeast of Guazhou county, Jiuquan city, Gansu province, China. Off-Site Water Supply Line project is a contract project of Phase 1, which is a package project of the whole power plant construction. The owner of the project is Gansu Electric Power Investment Power Co., Ltd.' (a subsidiary of GEPIC). The construction contractors is 'Gansu Water Conservancy & Hydropower Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd.'. The project mainly includes the construction works with the capacity of: (1) Construction of water supply pipeline from Shuangta Reservoir to factory area and installation of supporting buildings and equipment; (2) off-site water supply line (24.32 km); (3) laying of 2 DN500 (529) spiral welded steel pipes; (4) laying of communication cables along the pipeline. The project aims to build a new electric power generation plant with a capacity of 4000 MW. Project is a complementary project of 'State Grid Corporation of China - Jiuquan-Hunan 800 KV HVDC Transmission Channel' project as well as a key energy development project of Great Western Development Strategy of China. When completed, it will be the largest thermal power generation project in northwest China. It have great significance in solving the problem of wind and light waste of Jiuquan new energy. It also is an important step in the development of the national "new silk road strategy".
