Infrastructure Development Office planned to develop Fourth Macau-Taipa Sea Bridge Project, in Macau. Consortium of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd. and Omas Construction & Engineering Co Ltd was the construction contractor. Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong limited was the consultant. Located on the east side of the Friendship Bridge, the project was an important part of Macau's overall transportation system. The bridge was designed to start from the east of Reclamation Area A in the New Town of Macau and connecs with the artificial island at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Port. The main line of the bridge was approximately 3085 meters in length, of which the sea-crossing section was approximately 2860 meters in length. Two navigable bridges are set up to span 280 meters. The project was of great significance for further strengthening the transportation link between the Macau Peninsula and Taipa and facilitating residents' travel.
