Hutchison Ports ICAVE planned to develop Container Terminal Yard and Housing Construction Project, Port of Veracruz, Mexico, in Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico. The contractors of the project were China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd.China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. The project was located in the southwest side of the Gulf of Mexico, which was the largest port on the east coast of Mexico. The construction included more than 400,000 square meters of stacking scene layer, heavy box area, reefer area, PV area structural layer construction, empty box within the yard area. More than 10 sub-projects such as district structure, housing construction and hydropower. The project aimed to become the second largest port in Mexico, greatly improving the current aging infrastructure in Mexico, scale and technology backwardness. It also was a natural extension of the national 'Belt and Road' strategy.
